Apostille Saskatchewan — Document Legalization & Authentication

Saskatchewan is one of the five provinces with its own designated competent authority: the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General issues apostilles for documents issued or notarized in Saskatchewan. Documents without a government seal, such as degree copies, employment letters, and statutory declarations, are notarized by a Saskatchewan notary public or commissioner for oaths first. Because the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General accepts documents notarized anywhere in the province, that step happens locally — in Saskatoon, Regina, or a rural community — before the file is couriered onward.

The apostille is only the answer for Convention member destinations. Files headed to non-member countries — the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait are frequent examples for Saskatchewan's resource-sector workers — instead require authentication followed by consular legalization at the destination's embassy or consulate.
